I apologize for the delay but I had a problem with winners' graphics. Still having a problem but I'm just going to list the winners and post the graphics at a later date. Thanks for your patience.
Finally, I think the voting problem is fixed. Thanks to those of you who emailed and alerted us. So please vote!
The nominees are up! There are only three categories for this trial round - and three nominees per category (except for Loyal Supporting Character which only has two). So, get reading! Voting starts next week!
We'll be posting some nominations tomorrow so check back. We've only received a few and none at all for our Utterly Hysterical category so we think we'll scratch that one for the time being. Tell your friends and get your last minute nominees in! Send us those stories you think are excellent but no one else seems to know it exists!
We're trying to keep things on schedule just to see how things go so we will be closing nominations at midnight on the 21st.

I'm pretty hopeless when it comes to layouts and web design so I'm just using the generic templates offered on Webs for the time being. If this site catches on, we'll get an awesome graphics person to make this place look spectacular.
It's trial run time!!! We'll try just a couple categories this time around and see how well we do. We'll start the nomination period on Friday, 8.7.09 and end it 8.21.09. Yes, it's only two weeks but if it's apparent we need more time, we'll extend it.

Simply Brilliant is born!
Basically, what we are trying to do here is honor hard-working authors with our (utterly insignificant but fun nonetheless) awards. This is totally for fun and hopefully a place to get those little known writers some traffic.
Also, since we've noticed that a fair share of these brilliant stories involve life after high school, we've decided to make that our sort of 'by-line' if you will!
We'll do a trial run in a week or so - just to see how things work out. We're working on categories and time frames and we'll post more info in the next few days.
